5.30.08

The HUS has been dictated and it is the same. No changes. The IVH is still there.... But... She is doing well. She hasnt been able to nipple in a while because the breathing is still too fast. She has been having more desats and bradies. Her oxygen has been bumped up some and her flow is still up. She now weighs 2091 which is up from 2051.

Pictures later... I lost my card reader so Im having to use my desktop and its a lot of trouble.

All these abbreviations are confusing. Could you make a short post listing them that I could refer back to when my mind draws a blank or just doesn't know?

Have they considered putting her on CPAP? It is supposed to help lung growth and development. My doctor told me that the studies show it is much easier to later wean kiddos off the oxygen when they spend some time on CPAP. My little guy (30 weeker) has been on and off the CPAP since coming off the vent and I can definitely see that it helps!

He Khourt, how are things? I'm really sorry to hear about the hemorrhage. Wasn't it a little late to do the HUS or did they see it during a routine scan? I hope things improve.

Bronwyn.. They have been doing them since the beginning... All of the prior onces have showed no bleeds.. Just these most recent ones. It is very rare for them to have a bleed this far out so it was unexpected. Normally they have it within the first few days or 2 weeks.. 8 weeks is really really really uncommon. I thought maybe they could have missed it before but nope.

Her oxygen has been ok. She is just needing the nasal cannula more for the flow rather than the actual oxygen.. Sort of how my 27 weeker was.. and he is 3 now and on a vent...
